What is the IBS Charting Wizard?

The IBS Charting Wizard is a Microsoft Word Wizard designed to help you quickly and easily create Inductive Bible Study Charts.  The program does all the calculations and counts for you thus saving you time by drawing the chart for you so that you can spend more time on the important things like filling in the chart with all your cool observations etc.

The program will help you create Horizontal and Vertical Charts, Paragraph Titles, or simply help you out by doing the counting for you so you can create your own cool chart by hand.

Do I need Microsoft Word to use the IBS Charting Template?

Yes!  You need to own your own copy of Microsoft Word in order to use the IBS Charting Template.  It is designed to run with Word and it can not run with out it!  Currently the wizard works with Word 97, 2000, XP (2002) and 2003.

Rather than reinvent the wheel I decided to use the features in MS Word to build the charting template program.  Word is a good word processor and it has lots of great features plus it has support the visual basic language which use used to write the charting program during my SBSCC.

How do I use the IBS Charting Template?

Once the program has been installed you can launch the wizard from the start menu/programs/Inductive Biblestudy Template/IBS Charting Wizard or you can start the wizard from Word using the File menu/New.../and select the Charting Wizard from the list.  When the wizard has started select the type of chart you want, select the breaks, then watch while the program creates your charts.  See the Windows help file that comes with the program for more info.

How much does it cost?

The program costs $10.00 USD ($10.60 if you pay using a Credit Card)

If you can't afford that but would still like to have your own copy the program then give me a shout and we can working something out.  If you would like donate more to help me work on this project then that would be great as well!

For Schools who would like to offer the program to your students please contact me and we can work something out on a per student, per school basis usually around $5.00 usd / student using the program.

Can I give a copy of this program to the other students in my SBS?

Well ... there no way I can physically stop you from doing that.  However, I don't think that would be honoring God or the spirit of the contract agreement!  Lev 19:11

What is the contract agreement?

  1. I give you permission to use the program. (You don't 'own it' you are licensing it.)
  2. I'm not responsible if the IBS program damages anything of yours - it won't!
  3. Once you have paid for the program you can use it as much as you want on as many computers as you want so long as YOU are the ONLY person using it!
  4. You may not give it away, resell it, or share it, take it apart, etc.
  5. I will do my best to support the program, fix any bugs, and post updates for you.
  6. Upgrades are free for as long as I support the program.
  7. If you are a school wanting to offer the program to your students then there will be a small fee per student per year.

If you have questions feel free to give me a shout.  I'm flexible!  My desire is to make this tool available for a reasonable amount and help recover something from the hours of work I have put into this program.  I'm still full time with YWAM.

Does the program work on Word for the Mac?

In Theory yes.  In reality no.  :-(  The code as it currently is will not work on Word of the Mac however it is possible to get it running for the Mac - the problem is that I don't have a Mac computer to test and develop with.
